Aon Scholarship

ANZIIF supports the educational and professional development of its members by partnering with insurance and financial services organisations to offer a number of academic awards and scholarships. 

Each scholarship applicant may also earn six CIP points for their submission, where eligible. 

How to Write a Winning Scholarship Entry Essay

Submissions for the 2022 Aon Scholarship Closed

Run annually, the Aon Scholarship was established by Aon Reinsurance Solutions and ANZIIF. The award aims to

  • Recognise an outstanding insurance professional in the Australian, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea insurance markets.
  • Strengthen industry links locally and internationally, and
  • Emphasise the importance of continuing professional development in all aspects of insurance.

The scholarship winner will attend either the 2023 Aon Global Clients Reinsurance Seminar in London or the 2023 Aon Hazards Conference in Australia, subject to travel availability. The winner will also be announced at the annual Australian Insurance Industry Awards in Sydney on Thursday 25 August 2022. 

Applications are open to insurance professionals who are working in Australia, New Zealand or Papua New Guinea during the Scholarship period 12 May 2022 - 1 July 2022 and have no more than 10 years experience in insurance or reinsurance. 

To apply for the scholarship, each applicant must write a 2,500 word essay on a topic determined by Aon and ANZIIF. This year's topic is 'The Increasing Complexities of Reinsurance Requirements'. 

Submissions for 2022 are closed on Friday, 1 July 2022 (AEST).
