ANZIIF Fellowship by Merit is a distinguished pathway for senior insurance and finance leaders whose careers demonstrate exceptional expertise, influence and contribution to the profession.
It recognises those who have shaped organisations, led industries and upheld the highest professional standards — through experience and impact, without requiring completion of formal academic qualifications.
This pathway is by invitation and assessment only, and is reserved for a select group of highly experienced industry leaders.

Criteria
Pre-requisites as of 1 Jan 2026
Candidates must be an ANZIIF CIP member for a minimum of two consecutive years immediately prior to applying and must also be able to satisfy the following five key criteria:
- At least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years at General Manager (or higher) level.
- Recognition by peers as a leader, innovator or acknowledged specialist who has proven personal integrity and a commitment to improving industry professionalism.
- Advanced levels of knowledge in a particular field of insurance and has made a significant and positive impact on the company or the industry.
- Demonstrable professional creativity and flexibility.
- Commitment to lifelong professional learning.

Fellowship by Merit is open to a limited number of senior insurance and finance leaders whose careers demonstrate sustained leadership, influence and professional integrity.
Eligibility is assessed through a confidential, merit-based process overseen by the ANZIIF Fellowship Award Panel.
