    Ian Pollari is a partner at KPMG and is currently the Global Co-Lead for KPMG’s Fintech practice. He is also the Head of KPMG’s Banking Sector in Australia and on the Board of Stone & Chalk. Ian has over 16 years’ experience servicing clients in the financial services industry and brings knowledge and insights into the experiences of local and international banks, payment providers and fintech start-ups in areas such as strategy development, market entry and digital innovation.

    Daniel is a Board member of ANZIIF and is passionate about developing and attracting talent to our industry. He was CEO General Insurance Australia and New Zealand for Zurich Insurance from mid 2012 until late 2015.  He joined Zurich in 2009 to manage the SME & Packages business and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2010, then Executive General Manager, Corporate in 2011. 

    Previously Daniel held several Executive General Manager positions in general insurance during his 51⁄2 years at Suncorp/Vero. Prior to that, he spent 15 years at Westpac in a variety of roles, covering many aspects of banking and insurance. Starting his career at KPMG, he is a Chartered Accountant and is a Sloan Fellow with a Masters from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, California.

    Daniel is a Fellow of ANZIIF, a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, and has a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Accounting, Finance & Systems) from the University of NSW.

    Perry is currently launching Friendsurance in Australia, the world’s first peer-to-peer insurer. Perry has been a Director with Friendsurance Germany for more than three years, seeing the business grow from an idea to over 100,000 customers. Friendsurance is the global leader in a growing peer-to-peer insurance segment, with high customer growth and the highest customer satisfaction ratings in Germany.

    The connection between an Australian and this global first were the result of some chance meetings, which provided the unique opportunity to be part of the startup of the first global peer-to-peer insurer. Friendsurance has positively challenged so many of Perry’s views of insurance products and their customer experience.

    Perry has had the pleasure of working in various executive operations, commercial and finance roles within the Reliance Group, Wesfarmers Insurance, Superpartners and the Computer Sciences Corporation. He also continues to serve on CPA Australia’s Centre of Excellence for Retirement Savings.

He has served on the ICA’s Effective Disclosure Taskforce, and has been invited to speak to a number of audiences about the applications of behavioural insights to consumer finance. He has also conducted research for the UK Government on the behavioural impacts of taxation incentives for retirement savings, and is a co-author of BIT’s report with Citizen’s Advice on applying behavioural insights to regulated markets.

    Prior to joining the team, Ravi worked for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), where he was primarily involved in conduct regulation of banks and insurers.
