How it works 

1. Talk it through. Discuss your challenge or opportunity using the expressions of interest button below. You don't need a fully formed project.

2. Scope the project. APR.Intern helps define objectives, expertise, timeframe and outcomes.

3. Meet your researcher. APR.Intern shortlists suitable candidates from universities nationwide; you interview and choose

4. Run the internship. A focused 3 to 6 month placement, with the researcher supported by an academic mentor and regular check-ins.

5. Apply the findings. You receive the research, analysis and recommendations, including a final presentation and written report.

 

 

How long does an internship run and what does it cost?

APR.Intern research internships generally run for three to six months, depending on the project scope and required outcomes.

The industry contribution currently starts from $19,900 plus GST for a three-month internship. This includes the researcher’s stipend and APR.Intern’s program management services.

Longer internships are available, and eligible organisations may be able to access subsidies to help offset the cost of a placement.

What is APR.Intern?

Does our organisation need a fully developed project?

No. You can begin with a business challenge, opportunity or area requiring further investigation.

APR.Intern can help determine whether it could be developed into a suitable research project and guide you through the next steps.

What does APR.Intern manage?
APR.Intern supports project scoping, identifies suitable researchers, coordinates with participating universities and manages the agreements and administration associated with the internship.
Who owns the research and intellectual property?
Project intellectual property is typically retained by the host organisation, subject to the terms agreed for the individual internship.
Can we employ the researcher after the internship?
An internship does not create an employment obligation. However, organisations may choose to explore future employment or other opportunities with the researcher after the placement.
Are subsidies available?

Subsidies may be available for eligible projects from time to time.

APR.Intern will advise your organisation of any applicable funding during the engagement process.
