Machinery Breakdown Exclusion 9 Wear and Tear as Prescribed and not Otherwise

The ‘wear and tear’ exclusion found in machinery breakdown policies is not well understood in the insurance industry and has often been misconstrued. 

In this paper, Malaysian Chartered Insurance Practitioner, Arbitrator and Mediator, Mr Ong Lim Fatt, presents a detailed case study that highlights the need for caution when interpreting this exclusion.
