Communication Skills for the Insurance Professional
This short course introduces human communication and influence which is a practical skill you can use at any career stage to build trust, handle tough interactions, and get things done with people, not just processes.
Human communication and influence apply at every level, whether you’re communicating with customers, supporting colleagues, or leading teams. Learners will explore what it means to communicate in a way that is clear, honest and human, especially when stakes are high or something has gone wrong.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Explain why human communication and influence matter in insurance.
- Identify where this skill is required in your role and across the insurance lifecycle.
- Describe the Prepare → Connect → Shape → Close framework and recognise what “good” looks like.
- Apply the framework to real insurance scenarios, including tough conversations and challenging situations.
- Commit to at least one specific way you will use this skill in your workplace.
