Following on from the success of previous Rising Stars in Insurance Seminars, ANZIIF is pleased to announce its return in 2019!

This interactive seminar will be guided by some of the industry’s leading insurance professionals, who will share their experiences and mentor participants on how to build a successful career and become an industry leader. In addition, participants will gain industry knowledge and practical skills which they can use in the workplace, to help develop and grow their careers.

At the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Employ strategies to enhance confidence into their job role 
  • Identify effective presentation techniques to utilise in the workplace 
  • Identify the importance of professional development to achieve personal growth 
  • Apply key leadership skills to enhance and develop their career

    Brendan has 20 years’ experience in the Australian and Asia Pacific insurance markets. He has worked across both Property & Casualty lines, for global insurers and TPA’s.

    Brendan’s current role, General Manager - Delivery and Head of New Markets for Sedgwick Australia, and his previous Senior Management and Executive roles include; Business Operations Manager, State Manager and General Manager.   

    Brendan’s qualifications include a Diploma in General Insurance, Senior Associate of ANZIIF (CIP), and he is also an alumnus of the AsiaLink Leaders Program at Melbourne University.

    Andrew is a Director in Sedgwick Forensic Advisory Services, and leads the Victorian team. Andrew began his insurance career at Aon, and has over 10 years’ experience in forensic accounting and financial analysis, with expertise in complex insurance matters and large business interruption losses. 

    He has significant experience in dealing with stakeholders at all organisational levels to facilitate sound claims strategies. Andrew provides consultancy on both technical insurance matters as well as financial and strategic/operational issues. He has dealt with a full spectrum of clients, with a focus on large corporate and global companies (annual revenues A$100M and above).

    Wayne has over 40 years’ experience in the insurance industry in both public and private sectors. His early career was in CTP. He worked in the statutory classes with TAC where he held a number of senior claims roles.  Following this, Wayne was COO at Ansvar Insurance. 

    Throughout his career, Wayne has been involved in claims, reinsurance, underwriting and operational management. More recently Wayne has held senior claims roles with the VMIA and is currently in the role of Head of Insurance. Wayne is an ANZIIF (Fellow) CIP.

    Tanya is an experienced Strategy Leader, and a member of Marsh’s Pacific Leadership Group and Australian Executive Committee. She has significant experience across strategy development and implementation, operational excellence, and financial management in the Financial Services industry. Having worked across a broad range of business segments, Tanya has an insight into specific client needs of various sizes. Prior to Marsh she worked in Financial Services in London and in the mid-market sector in Australia, so has broad experience outside insurance.

    Along with improving client value and driving growth, Tanya is committed to colleague development and corporate social responsibility initiatives. As well as being an active mentor to emerging talent, she currently sits on the Marsh Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Working Group, was an inaugural member of Marsh’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and has been heavily involved in the company’s contribution to the Lloyd’s DiveIn Festival for 2017 and 2018.

    Natasha holds a BA/LLB (hons) from Monash University. She started her legal career after a stint volunteering on death row legal cases in the USA. She then joined a global international law firm where she worked for over a decade. In 2017, Natasha joined Lander & Rogers as a Special Counsel in its insurance team.

    Natasha is an experienced litigator, with a particular focus on complex construction disputes.  She has acted for numerous construction professionals, including architects, engineers and building surveyors. Natasha has extensive experience in claims involving non-compliant building products, including flammable cladding.

    Natasha is a proficient public speaker and industry commentator. She regularly delivers in-house training for her clients, as well as speaking at conferences and other industry events.
    Natasha is also a proud mum, keen traveller, hiker and skier.

    Linda is a qualified Rehabilitation Counsellor and Career Coach with more than 20 years of experience in assisting individuals to successfully navigate the job market, manage their careers and return to work following unexpected absence. Having worked in the Life Insurance sector for the last 18 years for both Insurers and ReInsurers, and having set up her own Career Coaching business, she has an extensive understanding of the various opportunities open to young insurance professionals working in this industry. Linda is passionate about individuals ‘CHOOSING’ to purposefully manage their career and how they can become highly sought after. 

    Linda has previously spent time on the ALUCA National Board, was a founding member of the Life Rehabilitation Forum, previous winner of the Aluca TurksLegal Scholarship and has presented at numerous industry conferences and seminars.
