    John Edmond

    John is the Chairman of Clyde & Co Australia.

    He is a highly regarded commercial litigator and a regular speaker on risks and issues facing the insurance sector.

    John specialises in insurance law, particularly the professional indemnity, financial institutions, directors' and officers' liability and general liability fields, both as coverage and defence adviser.  He acts for clients in Australia, Asia, the UK, Europe and the US.

    John joined Aon Benfield in September, 2011 as Head of Treaty Broking for Aon Benfield's Australian Treaty business.

    Prior to joining Aon Benfield, John was employed by Guy Carpenter for five years, where he held the role of Head of Broking responsible for Guy Carpenter's treaty operations in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. From 1991 to 2006, John was employed by Swiss Re in Australia where he held the position of Head of Client Management for Swiss Re's Australian & New Zealand operations.

    John has over 20 years experience within the reinsurance industry and provides a strong technical focus to Aon Benfield's Australian clients, encompassing general market business and regulatory environment oversight, reinsurance advice and analysis, negotiation and placement, and reinsurance market carrier management. John is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Melbourne where he majored in Mathematics and Statistics.

    Paul Allison is Vice Chairman for Guy Carpenter & Company's Pacific Region offices. 

    Prior to joining the company in 2001, Paul was Managing Director of MBR Reinsurance Pty. Ltd. He has also held similar positions at Sydney Re Asia Pacific, and Copenhagen Re (Aust.) Pty. Ltd. He also had 5 years experience at MLC Life Ltd.

    A graduate of the University of Technology (Sydney), Paul is a Fellow of the Australian New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, where he is also a Director. He is a Certified Insurance Professional and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

    After coming to general insurance via superannuation and life insurance 20 years ago, Scott landed an actuarial role in a commercial insurance team, which provided the ideal environment for him to understand the value of blending actuarial science with a broader, more commercial outlook. Between 1999 to 2006 Scott expanded into reinsurance, working at St Paul Re, Employers Re and Swiss Re where he moved from actuary to underwriting, becoming the Asia Pacific Casualty Leader.

    From 2006, Scott worked in the captive reinsurance operation of IAG, followed by a significant change of direction in 2010 when – as a substitute for a mid-life crisis – Scott joined the Boston Consulting Group to take up the challenge of management consulting. 2011 saw Scott re-join the industry and commence with Munich Re in the role of Underwriting Manager, Casualty, moving to Head of Underwriting, where he is responsible for all lines across Treaty and Facultative for the Australia / New Zealand markets.

    Tani Alexander is the Casualty Treaty Manager – ANZ of Berkley Re Australia.  She is responsible for the strategy, portfolio management and lead underwriting of the ANZ Casualty treaty portfolio for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

    Tani moved to her current role with Berkley Re in April 2016 after working for Swiss Re in Sydney for seven years as a Senior Casualty Treaty Underwriter. Prior to this, she worked for Munich Re America in Princeton, NJ and Munich Re in Sydney where she started her career as a graduate. 

    Her experience is focused on ANZ Casualty treaty underwriting, working with local and global insurers on structuring and pricing their casualty treaties. Tani has experience in underwriting prospective and retrospective structured solutions, product development, innovation and casualty accumulation products. Tani holds a Bachelor of Business from UTS, Sydney.
