Personal Injury Law and Regulation
Looks at the relevant Acts that impact on workers compensation and CTP in each of the jurisdictions in Australia, and the key legal elements and compensation principles relevant to claims. Students will look at the impact of the Privacy Act, Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and work health and safety legislation on personal injury claims and also examine the role of the supervisor in a workers compensation and CTP environment.

- Identify the requirements for the maintenance of company records in the management of the claim
- Apply your understanding of the key legal elements to your jurisdiction
- Explain the purpose of other legislation impacting on a personal injury claim
- Apply the Privacy Act to a workers compensation claim and the maintenance of records
- Apply the Freedom of Information Act to a workers compensation claim and the maintenance of records
- Identify compliance of the Acts with the practices adopted in your own workplace
- Define the supervisory role of the team leader in the personal injury context
- Explain the role of the supervisor in ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulation in the personal injury environment
