I have now been the new CEO at ANZIIF for four weeks. In that time, I have been listening to both internal and external stakeholders and have started to attend sector wide events such as the UAC Expo and Insurtech Live.
It has been fantastic to have some many of our membership introduce themselves to me — thank you for making me feel welcome it is greatly appreciated.
There are two areas which I have been keeping an eye on and will continue to explore, firstly the draft legislation in response to the Quality of Advice Review which should be released for consultation in the next few weeks and secondly the inquiry into insurers’ responses to the 2022 major floods claims.
Of interest to you might be the submission made by the Insurance Council of Australia.
Finally, many of you we know that last month I moved to Melbourne to take up my new role. Coming from New Zealand, and not being a great user of public transport in the past, I have continued to not excel as a user of public transport here in Melbourne.
I do not seem to have learned that just because a train arrives at my platform, it does not necessarily mean my train is running early! In fact 10/10 times it is not my train and once again I am heading to a destination which is unknown!
