At the 2018 ANZIIF Group Life Seminar, Katherine Gobbi from EMLife talked about integrated case management. In this video Katherine talks about the future of claims management and where it is heading as consumer demand changes. She talks about the traditional ‘medical model’, which assumes a linear relationship between disease, symptoms and disability, and incapacity for work. This, she says, is distinct from the ‘biopyschosocial (BPS) model’, which emerged in claims management in 2002 and is centred on the individual, taking into consideration their social context when analysing their health problems. Katherine Gobbi is the Chief Executive Officer, EMLife Pty Ltd.
