    Prior to co-founding Vallum Kai spent almost 10 years as an Executive at Zurich Australia where he built its successful Global Corporate business and most recently held the role of General Manager for New Zealand. 

    He is a former Board Member of the Insurance Council of New Zealand and sits on ANZIIF's New Zealand Management Advisory Board as well as its Risk Management Faculty Advisory Board. He is also a founding member of Insurtech New Zealand.

As well as incident response, Joseph's expertise includes advising on cyber insurance coverage, conducting data privacy and technology Pl litigation and advisory data protection work. Joseph holds an LLM in Computer and Communications Law from QMUL focusing on cyber crime and data protection and CIPP-E and CIPM certifications awarded by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

    Steve is Head of the Major & Complex team at Sedgwick NZ where he leads a team of 35 that specialise in the adjusting of commercial property, liability, financial, marine, food, cyber, construction & engineering claims.

    First and foremost however, Steve is an Executive Adjuster who has specialist expertise in crisis claims including product, liability, recall and cyber losses. Steve first became involved in cyber claims approximately seven years ago in what is thought to be New Zealand's first cyber insurance claim investigation, and since then has assisted insurers develop a 24/7/365 response process and team to respond to these cyber losses in an efficient and timely manner.

    John is a recognised expert in the cyber risk space, leading one of the largest, dedicated cyber incident response teams in Australia and New Zealand. His team have advised on over 1,000 cyber incidents in recent times, including on some of the most high profile and complex incidents to date, both locally and globally.

    He has extensive experience advising both local and London market insurers and corporate clients across the full cyber lifecycle, from product development and incident response, through to claims, regulatory investigations and recovery proceedings that often ensue following an incident. He works closely and has strong relationships with stakeholders who operate across the cyber risk eco-system including regulators, law enforcement, government bodies and non-legal advisors.

    He also routinely provides organisations directly with pre-incident services to boost their overall cyber incident readiness and resilience including the review, development and implementation of policies and procedures to address their cyber risk, as well as resilience exercises for staff.
