    Jenny is a highly experienced and qualified insurance professional, responsible for developing and delivering on key business imperatives.  She has oversight, prioritisation, facilitation and resource management of key strategic projects with a focus on the development of and institutionalisation of key frameworks to instil consistency and simplification.  Prior to joining Allianz, Jenny worked for CGU, QBE & Ansvar in a variety of operational and management roles both in Australia and overseas.

    A founding member of ANZIIF’s General Insurance Faculty Board and current Chair, Jenny is passionate about investing in the future talent of the insurance industry and is heavily involved in the development of insurance professionals in the Australian and New Zealand marketplace.
    Jenny has a Graduate Diploma in Insurance and a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University and is an ANZIIF (Fellow) CIP.

    Danny commenced his long standing career within the insurance industry in the 1980’s at FAI Insurance. Once in the industry, he learned that with further experience and qualifications the industry would provide many avenues and opportunities for a successful and rewarding career. 

    His long career in insurance has seen him gain knowledge and experience across many facets of the industry from claims, underwriting, marketing, sales and distribution, strategic planning and management. After many years in senior management positions at Zurich, Danny commenced at Regional Insurance Brokers in 2007. Since that time, this the business has grown three fold, from 34 employees to now over 100 and the income has also significantly increased. 

    Danny’s current role, as Group General Manager, oversees one of the largest insurance broking houses in Australia. This sees Danny enjoying the diversity of a geographically vast business with a continuously growing workforce. He enjoys his busy role as Group General Manager and is a shareholder of the business. Danny has also held the position of Vice President of CQIB since 2012 to 2016 and is actively involved in promoting the benefits of the insurance industry, particularly to young professionals entering the industry.

    Ryan is Executive Manager, Commercial Underwriting QLD for Suncorp. He has over 20 years’ experience in both General Insurance and Workers Compensation and has held senior role within Claims, Underwriting, Operations and Distribution, including time leading one of Australia’s largest underwriting agencies. Ryan’s breadth of experience positions him well to understand both current and future challenges facing the industry.

    Kurt Nilsen is Managing Director of Lion Underwriting, an independently owned and managed agency established in March 2015. 
    Kurt began his insurance career in 1994, working for Mutual & Federal in South Africa. He worked his way up the ladder, starting in riot insurance, domestic and then commercial. He was one of the company’s youngest BDMs. After moving to Australia in 2001, he established Australian Professional Underwriting Agencies and became a Lloyd’s Coverholder. Kurt was elected to the Underwriting Agencies Council Board at the 2013 Annual General Meeting. He now holds the position of Deputy Chairman. Kurt holds a Diploma of Financial Services and is an ANZIIF Senior Associate.

    Like most insurance careers, Donna’s started by accident.  She got hooked, and never left. Donna is a member of the ANZIIF Claims Faculty Advisory Board, as she is passionate about our industry and wants to contribute to its sustainable future.  

    Donna believes that ANZIIF has a vital role to play in supporting our industry’s reputation and social responsibility by providing professional qualifications, standards of professional conduct, and lifetime learning opportunities - formal and informal. 

    Donna’s 20 year insurance career has been diverse and always interesting, but her heart keeps calling her back to Claims.  She has been endlessly inspired and humbled by how our industry responds with urgency, humanity and compassion when our customers and the community need us most. 

    Donna is General Manager, Long Tail Claims at Allianz and is excited by the emergence of an increasing customer focus in the CTP schemes.
