ANZIIF’s annual General Insurance Breakfast is back. The theme for this year's event is "Climate Change, Catastrophe and the Effect on a Hard Market".
Returning for its 35th year, this event will feature fireside chats with industry leaders exploring this important topic.
Attracting a wide range of attendees from across the Australian general insurance industry, this event is an ideal chance to celebrate successes from the past year, discuss opportunities and challenges with industry peers, engage with thought leaders, and open the door to new business opportunities.
The General Insurance Breakfast is conducted under Chatham House Rule to promote the open sharing of ideas and information.

Jonathan Wood, Head of Insurance Risk at Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) will present a brief update about the regulatory landscape and how this will impact the general insurance sector.

Daniel is the CEO and Founder of Evari, an insurtech start-up and Lloyd’s coverholder, digitally servicing the insurance needs of small businesses in Australia, and licensing their cloud-based technology to insurers in multiple markets.
Daniel is a Fellow of ANZIIF and a member of the ANZIIF Board until 2021. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee of Insurtech Australia.
Daniel was previously CEO General Insurance Australia and New Zealand for Zurich, and has held executive positions at Suncorp/Vero and at Westpac.
He has a Masters from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of NSW. He is a Fellow of FINSIA, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Chartered Accountant.

David commenced his career in claims in 1991. He has worked in all classes of Short Tall Claims.
He is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and is a Charted Loss Adjuster for AICLA. He is a member of the ANZIIF Claims Faculty Board and the AICLA Claims Conference Committee.
David previously held the position of Head of Property Claims at QBE and commenced his position as Head of Claims with CHU in March 2022.

David Hoffmann is EGM Commercial for Suncorp and is responsible for the overall Underwriting Execution for our Tailored Lines Portfolio (ISR, Liability, Profin, Fleet, Workers Comp Risk States, Surety and Engineering).
David has been with the Group for 37 years, having joined Lombard Insurance Company (purchased by Sun Alliance, RSA, Promina then Suncorp) in 1987.
David is a Fellow of ANZIF and holds a Diploma of Management from Deakin University.

Kylie joined the Insurance Council in September 2020 to support the ICA deliver a strategic plan to guide the organisation and its priorities
Kylie has responsibility for the ICA’s Strategy, Risk and Operations Teams including Human Resources, Data & Analytics and the ICA’s focus on climate, and resilience including co-ordinating the insurance industry's response to severe weather events.
Kylie has held executive and non-executive positions in financial services over the past 25 years and is dedicated to optimising public and private sector responses to rapidly changing environmental contexts with a focus on strategy, governance, innovation and value creation.
Outside of work Kylie is mother to 8-year-old twins, sings in her local community choir and has just taken up tennis lessons to avoid the ongoing embarrassment of being beaten by her son every time they play.

Risk Frontiers
James is Risk Frontiers’ Chief Geospatial Scientist developing solutions and providing thought leadership for the integration of physical, social science and climate change factors in modelling risk, exposure, vulnerability and resilience for people, property and infrastructure using geographical information science.
He manages the National Flood Information Database, our Risk Rating database and leads the development of ARPC's 2d geospatial blast loss model drawing on over 20 years of experience applying GIS and spatial analysis to solving geographical problems in the US, UK, Europe, Asia and Australia.
James has worked for a range of clients across government, insurance and infrastructure providers on large scale hazard modelling, hydrological modelling, physical and social vulnerability indices, spatial analysis developing web mapping platforms and mapping human and infrastructure exposure and small-scale site focused assessments.
He obtained his PhD in Geography at The Pennsylvania State University specialising in GIS and visualisation.

A confident speaker and presenter, my drive and curiosity for understanding the impacts of emerging risks on clients has provided me with the opportunity to publish and present on issues such as Terrorism Insurance in Australia.
