Pierre is currently focused on the financial impact of natural hazards and climate change to the finance industry (banking, insurance, investment), government and investment linked to physical assets.

The (re)insurance sector is part of the larger finance sector, but often it is a 'world' that separates insurance, banking and investment business practices.
As the impact of climate change on the finance sector grows, it is now discussed, assessed and evaluated by the industry. However, directed by an adapting regulatory framework, the three financial sectors have very different approaches to addressing climate change.
In this session, Dr Wiart will review the different practices and cover how data is used to assess the present and future risks, with a particular focus on the insurance industry.
