Naby Mariyam always had a powerful sense of who she was and where she was going.

At the age of 15 in her native Maldives, she skipped year 11 and 12 to start university.

By the age of 18, she had graduated from a hospitality management degree and was offered a job as a junior lecturer.

Having finished her masters at 23, Mariyam moved to Australia on a scholarship to study at Le Cordon Bleu, got married and had a baby.
