Winners of 2011 Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards Announced

The Australian Insurance Industry Awards honoured the industry’s best and brightest companies and individuals in front of over 700 insurance industry leaders at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre tonight.

Now in its eighth year, the Awards, hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and founding partner Asia Insurance Review (AIR), recognise outstanding achievement in the Australian insurance marketplace.

Institute CEO, Joan Fitzpatrick congratulated the winners of this year's awards as well-deserving of the recognition they received on the night.

“This year's Australian Insurance Awards have allowed the industry to take time out from what has been a very difficult year, and celebrate the achievements of its best and brightest," Ms Fitzpatrick said.

"The judges had a very difficult time deciding on the winners this year due the very high standard of the submissions. This is a great testament to the capability and professionalism of the Australian industry," she said.

“The winners are standard bearers for the industry and it is now their responsibility to actively promote their achievement and the valuable contribution of the insurance industry to our community,” she said.

“The Awards keep growing in appeal and stature and I commend ANZIIF for their pro-active dynamism in managing these Awards as a service to the insurance industry. I salute the members of the Judging Panel for their constructive social spirit and their dedication in the selection process. I congratulate all the winners who have a story of outstanding success to share with all,” he said.

Each award category is reviewed by a distinguished panel of fourteen Australian and international judges to determine the winners, and independently audited by Ernst & Young to ensure proceedings are conducted with the greatest integrity.
