ANZIIF partners with companies, government and non-profit organisations to provide a range of services that support professional excellence to enhance the standards, reputation and success of the industry and improve community understanding of insurance and finance. 

Established in 1884, ANZIIF works with members in 50 countries and has offices in Australia, New Zealand and China.

ANZIIF's mission is to lead and engage industry through education and the promotion of professional standards, enabling members to achieve their career and corporate aspirations. ANZIIF is dedicated to helping businesses, governments and non-profit organisations in the insurance and finance industry to fulfill their potential and that of their staff. 

ANZIIF is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Provider No 3596); with 20 years of experience providing training and assessment for qualifications from the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

Katrina has spent much of her career in financial services. A Chartered Accountant by trade, Katrina started her career in Audit, spent time at Newton Fund Management in London and then joined Westpac Trust.

She has owned her own small accountancy business for seven years, after which she was the Financial Controller for the New Zealand National Party. Katrina has a deep understanding of the legislative process and how to influence policy development, drawn from her experience as a two-term Member of Parliament. During that time, she chaired Select Committees and was a member of the Commerce Select Committee during the significant legislative changes in the financial services sector.  

Katrina has considerable experience leading membership bodies, working with regulatory change, creating public awareness, and has developed a learning academy. In addition to this she has managed the significant Funeral Trust Fund.

Katrina has been the CEO of Financial Advice NZ for five years. She was the inaugural CEO which merged three industry bodies into one professional body. In this time the organisation has become the voice of the financial advice sector, influenced significant legislative and regulatory change, and delivered quality professional development. In addition to this she has ensured research has been the basis for promoting the value of advice to consumers, enabling more New Zealanders, to seek quality financial advice to increase their financial health, wealth and wellbeing.

Mark Silveira is the General Manager of Industry Engagement at ANZIIF and is known as a highly innovative, strategic business relationship development professional. He has a successful background in general insurance and financial services, not-for-profit and commercial business sectors of over 40 years.

In addition to his position as General Manager – Industry Engagement for ANZIIF, he has also held roles such as Head of Sales for TravelCard Australia; General Manager of Coveright Insurance Brokers; National Sales Manager for GE Premium Funding; CEO of AR Group AFMA IAAA; National Sales and Marketing Director of OAMPS and General Manager of the Steadfast Group at its commencement.

In recent times, he has also become known for his voluntary work as the co-founder and host of the podcast series – Business Made Personal.

James Burnet is the General Manager of Corporate Services, leading the finance, people and culture and information technology functions at ANZIIF. He is also ANZIIF’s Company Secretary, with additional responsibility for risk, compliance, corporate governance and Board liaison. He joined ANZIIF in early 2021.

James holds an MBA and has 15 years C-suite experience across several for profit and for purpose organisations, including professional services and international development. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia and a graduate of the AICD’s Company Directors course.

Luke Davies is the General Manager of Professional Standards at ANZIIF and is responsible for the delivery of education and membership services, as well as establishment of ANZIIF’s Professional Standards framework.

In his 15+ years at ANZIIF Luke has held a variety of different roles and led many significant initiatives, focusing on customer engagement and the development of insurance professionals. Luke holds a Master of Enterprise (Executive) and a Bachelor of Environmental Science.

Rebecca Slingo is the General Manager, Learning at ANZIIF and has been an L&D practitioner for more than 27 years, leading learning functions across a range of industries including publishing, broadcasting and law and more recently 18 years in the insurance industry.

Rebecca has participated on various committees including a four year tenure as Treasurer of the Enterprise Registered Training Organisations Association (ERTOA) and has been an active member of the Financial Services Industry Reference Committee since 2019.

Rebecca is a Fellow of the Institute of Learning Professionals and a Member of the Australian Institute of Training and Development.
